Unhappy Question I.E 7

Any Idea why my browsers hangs, when closing.
Ran all the necessary, nothing untoward.

Hiya.

Possibly an addon is causing the problem, have you updated IE7 lately, or added any new toolbars/addons, etc.

Open IE and on the toolbar select Tools > Manage Add-ons.

Disable all of them in the list and then close IE.

Open IE again and close it, just to make sure that the disabling is working OK.

Does it hang now on closing.

If no, then open IE and re-enable one addon at a time, close IE and see if it hangs.

Continue re-enabling one addon, then close IE, until it hangs again, the last one you enabled is probably the one causing the problem.

I am not saying it will work, but it is a start.

It has started doing it again. I do not think its the add ons.
Could it be something else?

Adware finds a tracking cookie, nearly every day.
Could it be that?

Bloomin heck!, is it that problematic, hehahehaheha.

Do you use the, Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when Browser is closed option, maybe its that doing the business when you close IE.

You can find that tickbox under, Tools > Internet Options.... > Advanced tab. Unticking that box will leave the T/I/Files, in place and they will not be removed when closing the browser.

Or another maybe if that doesnt work, is....

Your browser history is set to 0 Days, set if to 1 Day or something, but you will still get a delay once it is triggered.

That is under, Tools > Internet Options.... > Browser history area, click the Settings button and at the bottom is.... Days to keep pages in history.

I feel that either of those, may cause a momentary hang on closing IE.
