I recently bought a router off ebay but it seems to be locked to tiscali
Ive tried a factory reset but still need a username and password to access the router any ideas how I can unlock this router

ive tried the link but its just installation instuctions for a different speedtouch the router I have seems to be locked to tiscali using administrator for username and blank for password doesnt help i'm afraid or have i missed something?

Speedtouch are usually
Administrator and 'blank' i.e. nothing for the pwd. Note the capital "A" in the username |

yup, ive managed to sort it out thanx as you say capital A
just have to learn now how to downgrade the firmware from 6.2 to 6.1 so I can use the dmt tool anyone have any ideas

Thompson should have a recovery tool and firmware available for download.

they have an upgrade wizard that spits the dummy out when you try to downgrade firmware
but persistent attempts( 8 in my case) with factory resets in between and it eventualy downgraded the firmware though there was no confimation from the wizard persistence is needed

You probably got yourself into recover mode, holding reset for 15-30 seconds at startup allows you to install firmware to a bricked router.
